"Huh, well. If you ever want to tend a different bar, I know a guy." Derek smirks at him, but he would hire Oliver in a heartbeat. Because he likes Oliver, which makes him think about their prior topic of conversation.

"Hey, let me ask you something," Derek says quietly, expression going serious as he meets Oliver's gaze. "You're in a dangerous business," he says and he isn't talking about bartending. "If you're ever in a situation where you're hurt, and you might not make it out, would you want me to bite you? Or let you go?"

It's something that he's been thinking about asking his friends, ever since it came up with Neil. Whatever they decide, he'll obviously respect, but he wants to know.
